NIF-funded organizations are at it again. B’tselem, Adalah, Gisha, and the Public Committee Against Torture in Israel are claiming that IDF soldiers defending Israel against endless terrorist rocket attacks are war criminals.
Im Tirtzu will not stand idly by while these untruths about the IDF and Israel are promoted to the world. In 20 of the largest-circulation Jewish newspapers across the United States, we have published a full-page letter to Brian Lurie, President of the New Israel Fund, asking him whether he stands by the latest allegations from NIF groups. (See below for the text of the ad — and please see the fact sheet substantiating every part of our ad.)
Please look for our ad in your local Jewish newspaper — and please help us spread the word about the latest attacks on Israel being promoted by the New Israel Fund. Share this post on Facebook, Twitter, and email, talk to your friends about it, and help us hold the New Israel Fund accountable for the accusations it is making against the Jewish State.
Brian Lurie….
I knew this pompous asshole when he was the newly-appointed director of the Jewish federation in San Franciso. So now he shows his true colors.
I remember the lives ruined in the wake of his actions to remake the San Franciso federation. I saw the fired, middle aged fundraiser, with tears in his eyes, wondering what he was going to do to make a living after many years of successful job performance and now thrown to the curb all because Lurie wanted to bring in younger people.
What a prick he was.
@ Honey Bee:
There are many “funds” that are blessings for the Jewish people and Israel. Aside from Israel Support Fund, of which I am the president, there is the Hebron Fund that supports the monumental work of the Hebron Jewish community, Christian Friends of Leket, based in Hamilton, Ontario, that provides food at no cost to impoverished Jews in Israel without any theological involvement (Leket, in Israel, is totally Jewish), funds to support Hatzolah, independent journalists like David Bedein (Israel Resource) and Palestinian Watch. True, it’s a shame for any of your money to go to the post-Jews of Hebrew University and the like, but there are many worthy of support. It’s important not to brush all funds with the same brush.
I never contribute to “funds”, I buy stock in Israeli companies.
