Obama wanted an October surprise that would assure him of reelection. He made a deal with Morsi to emable Islamists to kidnap Stevens (by having weak security at the consulate) and then he would negotiate his release prior to Nov 6 in exchange for the Blind Sheik. Sounds plausible to me.

@ Roger Johnson, Commander, US Navy (ret): Whether Obama schemed with morsi or just the locals, whether there was a plan for a hostage swap(I dont think so); Obama could have arranged the taking of the hostage and then had him released in a reprise of Reagan. The fact that the fight went on for 7 hours and moved to the cia safe house implies that the terrorists were not afraid of being hit.

However, such an scenario can easily be staged by anyone to discredit Obama(perhaps it fits too well) I cannot see how releasing the blind sheik for ambassador stevens would be beneficial to Obama. Trading such a prisoner would bury obama before the election as giving in to terror; also it would be a decison made too quickly as the election is here. The trading is not feasible in my opinion under the circumstances but it does not exonerate obama or the other side. Obama lied, obama and stevens appeared to be gun running arms from libya to support the MB.
After watching the video the second time, everything “clicked.” If – in fact – Obama schemed with Egypt’s President Mursi to arrange for the kidnapping of Ambassador Stevens so that his October Surprise could be the media extravaganza of the return of our Ambassador, then this is nearly as big as the assassination of Presidents Lincoln and Kennedy. Everything fits: (1) REDUCED SECURITY. (2) DENIAL OF INCREASED SECURITY. (3) ORDERS FOR EVERYBODY TO STAND DOWN. (4) FIRINGS OF GENERAL HAM AND ADMIRAL GAUOETTE FOR INITIATING INDEPENDENT ACTION. (5) THE LIE ABOUT THE SPONTANEOUS PROTEST OVER THE MOHAMMED VIDEO. But what perplexes me the most is that Fox News has ignored my repeated attempts to get them to watch the video. If this slips through the “fog of war” crack and Obama gets another four year term, then I agree with Goldi Steiner that the Western World is doomed.
Whether all or some of the theories about Benghazygate are true or not true, there is enough evidence against Obama to forecast a doomed future for America and the Western World. If all that is known to be fact is not enough for the electorate, and they prefer to conveniently ignore the threats hovering over our civilization, then, hey deserve the disaster that another Obama administration will bring. But sadly, not only the blind and deaf, but all of us, living with open eyes and ears, will suffer the consequences
It is usually the other side who comes up with a startling foreign development just before an election. Obama is unlikely to have wanted to rock the boat regarding an international incident and his “surprises” would tend to be “revelations” rather than “hostage taking”. He tends not to be a risk taker. If he had planned such a setup it would be stupid as hell with great percentages of backfiring.
If this story is true, as it seems to be, then we have a treason plot that went wrong with the resulting death of four Americans. This story has the potential to destroy Obama’s presidency. The burden of proof is on Obama to prove his innocence with the immediate release of ALL the evidence that he has classified top secret and withheld from the public. Please circulate this story to as many as possible as soon as possible.
