Romney critics defend Islam

By Ted Belman

I have had a chance to read up on the attacks on Rommey for what he said and have concluded that the criticisms are not well founded.

Romney said, before all the news was out, ““It’s disgraceful that the Obama administration’s first response was not to condemn attacks on our diplomatic missions, but to sympathize with those who waged the attacks.” I agree with this 100%.

But not everyone in his party backed him up. And the Democrats and the main stream media saw an opening to bring Romney down and piled on.

The Washington Post titled their attack, “Mr. Romney’s rhetoric on embassy attacks is a discredit to his campaign”

At a news conference, Mr. Romney claimed that the administration had delivered “an apology for America’s values.” In fact, it had done no such thing: Religious tolerance, as much as freedom of speech, is a core American value. The movie that provoked the protests, which mocks the prophet Muhammad and portrays Muslims as immoral and violent, is a despicable piece of bigotry; it was striking that Mr. Romney had nothing to say about such hatred directed at a major religious faith.

This was the theme of many of the attacks, i.e., he should have attacked the film and defended Islam.

One can complain about Romney’s response because he didn’t wait for all the facts or he didn’t sympathize with the survivors etc but not for the reason WaPo gives.

For that matter there was much to criticize Obama on but as always the press gave him a pass and supported him.

  1. “Christianity claims to follow Noachism.”

Not true. Christianity is antithetical to Noachism.

I will find you an legitimate site and post the link on this blog.

  2. Michael Devolin Said:

Neither are “correct”. In fact, both are insalubrious. You need to get in touch with any Orthodox Jewish Rabbi familiar with the 7 Laws of Noach (Noachism). There are many Noachide sites you can visit to find out more about Noachism.

“My way or the highway (to Hell)” as they say, Michael. Ditto Islam. It’s what I refer to as a “constriction of conscience.”

If someone is considering a religion, how would they know which one is the true path to Heaven. Both Christianity and Islam can not be correct.

  5. “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life, no man comes to the Father but by me.”

Religious tolerance does not exist in islam. By us tolerating islam means that we are in effect endangering the religious rights of everyone else.

“I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life, no man comes to the Father but by me.” John 14:6

    Pretty tolerant, right?

What utter crap but perfectly in keeping with WAPO’s and the msm’s dhimmitude. Religious tolerance does not exist in islam. By us tolerating islam means that we are in effect endangering the religious rights of everyone else.

The movie didn’t provoke the protests, the protests were already planned for the 9/11 anniversary as I have said.

The muslim violence perpetrated in Libya and Egypt shows that the movie’s portrayal of islam as being violent is truthful and not bigotry. The irony of this is totally lost on WAPO.

It’s striking that WAPO has nothing to say about the hatred islam directs toward other religious faiths.
