Egyptians storm Israeli Embassy building

Hundreds of Egyptians partially tear down wall surrounding Israeli Embassy in Cairo, remove flag from building for second time this month. Over 200 Egyptians reportedly injured. Foreign Minister opens emergency situation room

Some of the protesters then stormed the embassy premises and tore down the flag from the building for the second time in less than a month. Eyewitnesses reported that the protesters threw the flag on the street, prompting loud cheers from the mass crowds gathered outside the embassy.

Israeli officials stated that the Egyptian protesters broke into the building and managed to reach the floor on which the embassy is located. However, they have not managed to break in through the fortified doors.

Sources in Jerusalem called the incident a “grave event,” and noted that it is still unclear whether the Egyptian security officers who guard the building fled the scene.

The Foreign Ministry opened an emergency situation room and is constantly being updated by Egyptian and Israeli authorities in Cairo. Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman arrived at the command post and is being briefed on the latest developments.

Israeli officials also stated that no embassy personnel have been injured. Al-Arabiya network reported that at least 200 Egyptians were injured during the clashes outside the embassy building.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke with US President Barack Obama and briefed him on the situation outside the Israeli Embassy in Cairo.

Al-Jazeera network reported that the Egyptian army is using tear gas canisters in order to disperse the crowds.

According to eyewitnesses, crowds climbed the embassy security wall, pummeled it with hammers and tore away large sections of the barrier, which Egyptian authorities erected after daily protests last month sparked by tensions over the death of five Egyptian security personnel in Sinai which Cairo blamed on Israel.

Since Mubarak’s fall, calls have grown in Egypt for ending the historic 1979 peace treaty with Israel, a pact that has never had the support of ordinary Egyptians.

The attempt to demolish the wall came after an Egyptian Facebook group called activists to gather outside the Israeli delegation in Cairo and “urinate on the wall.”

Egyptian groups also called activists to spray graffiti slogans against Israel on the wall and erect a memorial for the soldiers killed during the attack in south Israel.

Eyewitnesses said policemen and soldiers stood by as the activists hammered away at the roughly 2.5 metres (8-foot) high wall.

Egyptian officials said the wall was intended to protect residents of the high-rise embassy building, not the Israeli mission.

The move against the embassy wall came as around 4,000 Egyptian activists demonstrated in central Cairo demanding faster reforms, ending military trials for civilians.

  1. At one time I responded to one of our correspondent that asked me why I identied the so called “peace process” as a criminal sham, in this fashion.
I would prefer not to explain in detail this but generally I mentioned that what I
had done at 17 years of age, was not longer an option at 60.

Today morning by chance again, while at the barber I had the horrid experience of hearing one Yaron Dekel, IBA FM Radio “B”. For general information purposes let me point out that the item was posted in Washington by the “Israeli media” for several years and returned here ladden with the US unJewish cadre artifacts.
As you know Mr. Netanyahu did thank Obama about certain logistic help Israel received in extricating some of our people in Cairo.
Yaron proceeded to hysterically rabbit punch Netanyahu about how will he now react to Obamas demands for the destruction of YESH and accepting the 87 so called limits.
Folks. You had to hear the “jackassic” idiot to understand that kind of “peace partner” in depth.
For elements such as Yaron it is perfectly OK for them to have caused thousands of “victims of peace” intentionally and never apologize but everyone else has to cow at their calling.
    Disgusting creatures.

  2. ArnoldHarris: A veryy explicit message from up above. Hashem wants Bibi out pronto. Hashem would prefer Bibi to retire to the Kibbutz and shovel cows–t rather than fuc—g up the state of Israel.

  3. Your comment is awaiting moderation.

Ted, I believe “Your comment is awaiting moderation is stuck”

Reminds me of my old 1956 Chevy that used to get stuck in reverse and I had to open the hood and reach in move the gear shift arms.

  4. Laura, again I have to agree with you.

Obama knew with the overthrow of Mubarak the muslim brotherhood would take charge and to date its a proven fact they are out to get both Christian and Jews.

It become more and more apparent Obama is as I stated and believe he is a Anti-Semite and embraces Islam.

What is more confusing is how in the world the liberal left media (includes MSNBC, NBC, CBS, ABC and the likes of the New York (Slime)Times can support this SOB who is a puppet for George Soros and company.

Unfortunately my fellow Americans have been duped, abusing their right to vote by not checking the credentials of the candidates and relying on what the liberal left media feeds them.

Finally a few have recognized their error and the birth of the Tea Party, not a political party but rather concerned Americans, including conservatives, moderates, liberals, independents Republicans and Democrats. Not evil people as described by the hateful liberal lefts. Joe Biden should have his mouth washed out with soap.

The so-called ‘arab spring’ has unleashed the genocidal jihadists who now completely surround Israel and are frothing at the mouth to launch another war of annihilation against the Jewish state. I’m certain that it is not a matter of naivete, but of malicious intent on the part of the Obama administration to do harm to Israel. There is no chance that the White House did not understand what would follow after Mubarak was gone. It’s not that Mubarak was a good guy, but at least he repressed the muslim brotherhood.

It should be called CIA spring.

European and American Bankster need a diversion so a False Flag attack seems imminent!!

  6. Is Bibi trying to become Jimmy Carter Plus?

(For those who don’t know it, Carter was the US President in 1979, when the Iranians stormed the US Embassy in Tehran and kidnapped the staff. Bibi seems to be content to have the same sort of thing happen to Israel in Cairo. Carter got a Nobel Prize for his stupidity. Bibi will only be mocked).

  7. This is the fruit of Obama’s decision to throw Mubarak under the bus and back the muslim brotherhood. The so-called ‘arab spring’ has unleashed the genocidal jihadists who now completely surround Israel and are frothing at the mouth to launch another war of annihilation against the Jewish state. September 10, 2011 at 1:21 pmmit, what would you advise BB to do that he is not doing about this situation?

Bill, you are aware I know very little about Israel and at times I am perplexed and confused.

It has to be hell when all your neighbors hate you and want to take whatever land G-d provided for you, mainly the Holy Land.

I would advise BB to stand tall and tell Egypt and the rest of the neighbors to (please excuse my language) fuck off, we are tired of being harassed, lied
    about, terrorized.

We, Israel is not interested in conquering any of our neighbors or securing their land. We want to live in peace in the land G-d provided for us.

We will provide any means necessary to move any Palestinians and other Arabs to any other Arab country nearby to live in peace.

However, we will, if attacked in any fashion will respond with swift and devastating consequence. This is not a threat but a promise.

And yes Sonnyboy we should take back the Sinai, it is part of the Holy Land.

  9. Yamit, what would you advise BB to do that he is not doing about this situation?

1- I would close the Embassy. The first reports were that the Egyptian paramilitary police stood aside and watched the attacks on the Israeli Embassy.

2- I would ask the Egyptians to close the T/A embassy and leave until it is safe for our Ambassador and all Israeli nationals to return. (Never)

3- I would announce that we will not accept further any American military aid and that we will negotiate the terms of payment and timing of what is already contracted. We will pay for any weaponry we decide to buy from the Americans in the future. We would advise the Americans that all agreements Israel has made under duress with the Americans no longer apply as to restrictions imposed upon us re; our military sales to third parties. I would ask the Americans to remove their X-Band Radar from the Negev.

4- I would concurrently demand of the US to cease the aid given to Egypt as it is based on the Camp David Accords and if we are no longer recipients than Egypt’s receipt is conditional on we receiving same aid understandings. America would have to negotiate new Bilateral agreements with Egypt.

5- I would lobby congress aggressively through Jewish and other organization for cutting Egypt off from the American ATM.

6- I would notify Egypt than any further attacks against Israel from Sinai, Israel will initiate the principle of hot pursuit into Sinai and if Challenged by Egyptian forces we will respond in kind.

7-I would bar any Israeli national from entering Sinai. I would move a whole division along the Egyptian border and close it off to all illegal traffic.

    http://www.outsidethebeltway.com/egyptian-protesters-attack-israeli-embassy/

Egyptian military and security police officers largely stood by without interfering with the demolition, though they clustered at the entrance to the embassy to keep protesters out. The security forces had pulled back from Tahrir Square and other areas before the start of the day to avoid clashes with the protesters, although the military had issued a stern warning on its Facebook page against the destruction of property.

Israeli radio interrupted its programming to report on the attack at the embassy, Reuters reported. Citing Foreign Ministry officials, the broadcast said that the Israeli ambassador was safely at his residence and that Israel was in contact with the Egyptian government and others about the episode.

Subsequent reports said that he Ambassador, along with his family and staff, were at the airport in Cairo preparing to leave the country. This doesn’t bode well for the future course of events in Egypt, where the military government seems to be dragging its feet on the reforms promised in the wake of Hosni Mubarak’s departure in February, or for Egyptian/Israeli relations, which have been strained since the

  10. One of you has asked what Netanyahu should do about this situation that he is not doing. So here goes:

    1) Remove Shomron and Yehuda from any and all diplomatic bargaining tables, which in any case are almost totally imaginary. Than can be done by immediately terminating all governmental barriers against expansion of the Jewish population in these territories, and especially in areas B and C as defined in the Oslo agreements that established the Palestine Authority. At the same time, announce that Area C shall be annexed to the State of Israel, and that the moment the UNO General Assembly votes to recognize the Palestine Authority as an independent state, that most or all of Area B similarly will be annexed. Then get busy constructing housing and infrastructure minimally at the rate of about 25,000 Jewish family residential units per year in the annexed territories, along with urban and regional public infrastructure, commercial services and industrial parks. Once the reality sinks in that these moves are irrevocable, the world will adjust its apparent current view that the existence of a Jewish state is reversible. At that point, begin negotiating separate local autonomy arrangements with the local leaderships of the Arab cities in Shomron and Yehuda. These include but are not necessarily limited to Ramallah, Jericho, Shchem, Jenin, Tulkarem, Kalkiliya, Beit-Lehem and Hevron.

    2. As an immediate response to any new missile firings into Israel from Gaza, invade the territorial strip and this time, settle down for permanent occupation. Shut down all the UNO-administered camps. Rebuild the Jewish coastal settlements shut down by Ariel Sharon a few years ago in his adject and foolish surrender and sell-out of Jewish national interests.

    3. Shut down the Israeli embassy in Egypt. Expel their diplomats from Israel. Prepare for real war. As an immediate response to any new military or terrorist provocation from Sinai, invade and militarily re-occupy the pensinsula at least as far west as the Gulf of Suez and the Mitla Pass area, and this time, settle down for permanent occupation. Rebuild all the Jewish coastal settlements shut down by Menachem Begin 30 years ago in his abject and foolish surrender in his abject and foolish sell-out of Jewish national interests.

    4. Announce that any threat of use of weapons of mass destruction against Israel, either overt by the armed forces of any of the Moslem countries, or by terrorist gangs covertly armed by them, will be answered immediately by preparation for the massive and permanent destruction with the same kinds of weapons which would be used against any and all target cities or other locations from which the threats emanate.

    5. Undertake some serious moves to develop mutual defense relationships with China, India and Russia, capitalizing on the reality that all three of these countries face Moslem enemies of their own.

In short, begin acting once more in the spirit that was supposed to have been introduced to the Jewish nation by ha-Shem in the era of Moshe and the mass settlement and consolidation of Eretz-Yisrael some 34 centuries ago; a spirit that was brought to life once again by the spirit of the armed Jewish nation fighting under the leadership of the Makabi family and in our own time by the hero generations of 1948 and 1967.

Yea right! We will have to take it again and then give it back afterwards, Stupid Jews never learn. Israel just doesn’t turn the other cheek we turn both cheeks then bend over.
