Obama and the Muslim question
By Burt PrelutskyWND
A while back, a friend who’s convinced that Barack Obama is a Muslim sent me an email in which he informed me that followers of Islam must refrain from wearing jewelry during Ramadan, which runs through August this year, and that Obama hasn’t worn his watch or his wedding ring since the start of the holiday.
I wrote back to say that I don’t know where or when Muslims are allowed to wear jewelry and that I tend not to notice jewelry, no matter who is or isn’t wearing it, unless it’s a guy in a poker game wearing a pinky ring. In which case, I cash in and go home.
The fact is, I wouldn’t care if Obama was a Muslim if he weren’t such an arrogant, lazy, snotty, lying socialist. So far as I can tell, he doesn’t prostrate himself and pray to Mecca five times a day, and I can’t quite picture him turning up his nose at a bacon cheeseburger. It’s all the things he does do that make him such a pain in the butt.
For instance, it’s his constantly laying the blame on George Bush, a man who’s grown in stature since leaving the White House by not carping about his successor. It’s his surrounding himself in the past with such creeps as Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers, David Axelrod, Rahm Emanuel and Tony Rezko, and in the present with the likes of Van Jones, Harry Reid, Valerie Jarrett, Nancy Pelosi, Richard Trumka and George Soros. Road kill attracts a better crowd.
He’s a guy who demonizes Republicans and the tea-party movement for the state of the economy while he conducts campaign fundraisers, treats Paul McCartney and Tom Hanks to expensive dinners on our dime and spends more time on the links than Phil Mickelson. For good measure, lest we haven’t caught on to his overall contempt for the American taxpayer, he sends the family off on a sightseeing tour in Africa that runs us $800,000.
The guy squanders trillions of dollars, sending the nation ever deeper into debt, and then not only decides the solution is to raise taxes and squander more, but gets a cheap laugh at a time when the actual unemployment or under-employment rate is hovering over 15 percent, by saying, “I guess shovel-ready wasn’t as shovel-ready as we expected.” Not exactly Henny Youngman, but apparently amusing enough to get a guffaw from the fellow sitting next to him at the time, his jobs czar, G.E.’s Jeffrey Immelt. I guess when Obama brays against corporate jet owners, he doesn’t have to look too far to find one.
Something else that makes Obama so loathsome are his constant attacks on “millionaires and billionaires.” There’s no denying that class and race warfare are straight out of every playbook ever devised by Marx, Lenin, Alinsky or Cloward and Piven, but it’s particularly disgusting when offered up by a schmuck who hosts birthday parties for himself with seats going for almost $40,000-a-pop, when he gets Wall Street to cough up tens of millions for his re-election and when his closest friend, the aforementioned Mr. Immelt, runs a company that made $15 billion last year and didn’t pay a nickel in income tax!
Finally, one of the reasons my friend is convinced that Obama is a Muslim, aside from his spirited defense of the Ground Zero mosque, is the way he has lavished praise on the religion of Allah, but never the religions of Abraham or Jesus Christ, along with the speech he delivered in Cairo, Egypt, back in June 2009. With a perfectly straight face, he actually said, “Throughout history, Islam has demonstrated through words and deeds the possibilities of religious tolerance and racial equality.”
Obama has also insisted that the Muslims played a major role in the founding of America, which led some of us to wonder how it is that Washington, Jefferson, Franklin, Adams and Hamilton never once mentioned the nation’s enormous debt to Allah.
While taking every opportunity to condemn Americans who merely oppose his loony fiscal policies or Obamacare, this Chicago cockroach brown-noses those who burn Bibles, desecrate churches, murder Christians and vow to exterminate Jews.
Let’s face it, if Islam had its way, we’d all either be dead or spending most of our time bowing to Mecca.
Does all of this mean that Obama is a Muslim? No way. Does it mean that after he loses next year’s election, his next gig could be as spokesman for the Council on American-Islamic Relations. Way!
Correction.
G-d instructs men through His Word (the Tanach/Bible) AND through men and women he calls prophets.
It is obvious you are an unbeliever.
Prophets instructing men is not the same as God instructing men. G-d instructs men through His Word (the Tanach/Bible) AND through men and women he calls prophets.
It is obvious you are an unbeliever.
NO, but your insistence that there is no such thing as Semitism or that there are no non-Jewish Semites is what indicates your willfull ignorance.
This is exactly what I meant by your willfull ignorance.
The definition of Semite has nothing to do with genetic ancestry. It is your red herring.
I don’t need to know what it means to be a Jew to know how many Jews pressure their children to marry Jews or to coerce their non-Jewish fiamces to convert.
It has everything to do with fooling themselves into thinking they were fooling HIM. Why else would they deliberately mis-spell the name of God after taking it in vain?
Actually, it is blasphemous to ascribe to God what he did not say to anyone that anyone can prove.
Prophets instructing men is not the same as God instructing men.
How about your considerable blasphemy by putting words in God’s mouth that you cannot prove HE said?
These are you faith beliefs – they cannot be used as evidence in political discussions.
Not close enough. Any attorney would tell you so. A little knowledge is dangerous. Anyone who represents himself in court has a fool for a lawyer. If I had need for an attorney, I’d hire one. Officer Friendly in the light blue uniform lies mouldering in the grave. The entity in a black suit who has replaced him is not your friend, cannot distinguish truth from a lie and is not one to seek in time of trouble. Never talk to the cops.
YouTube – Don’t Talk to Cops, Part 1
YouTube – Don’t Talk to Cops, Part 2
Not in the minds of Jews. I’ll wait and see what G-d says about it.
It was a prophet instructing men. It is blasphemous to call the Word of G-d “baloney” as you did.
There is more than a hint of blasphemy there.
I’m sure my folks, of blessed memory, would be amused to learn that they weren’t Jewish (either that or that they didn’t, in fact, give birth to YoursTruly).
I DO, however, in any case, “know what their reaction would have been for a Jew to marry a Gentile” — and it could HARDLY have been characterized as pleasure & satisfaction.
As I said, you have no clue as to what it means to be a Jew.
Apparently don’t want to know either.
But that’s fine; it’s your choice.
I told you: that’s their take on the Commandment. In any event, it’s got nothing to do with ‘fooling’ Him.
How absurd. How silly.
Climb off your horse
— the rarefied air is making you dizzy
with judgment.
Quite so.
It is your OWN ego that’s at issue here, and most insistently on display — as usual.
“…if that’s what it takes to get my questions answered”: THAT indicates willful ignorance?
— Consider investing in a dictionary before you use words like “ignorance” & “willful.”
It’ll go a long way toward keeping that, aforesaid, delicate ego from finding itself exposed for what it is; it’ll minimize your embarrassment.
I stand 100 percent behind the remark.
There AREN’T any non-Jewish Semites. Haven’t been any for millennia.
The common assumption that there are such things as ‘non-Jewish semites’ is simply a popular confusion, propagated by parties who clearly haven’t thought things through.
Either that or they have pronouncedly political axes to grind…
Pay attention, AE, maybe you’ll learn something here (then again, maybe you won’t — but we’ll get to see how open your mind is):
The Arabs, Armenians, et al., speak Semitic languages, it’s true– but GENETICALLY or “racially” there are no non-Jewish ‘Semites’ and haven’t been any since at least as long ago as the Exodus (early Iron Age [1400-1300 BC]).
No way there COULD be non-Jewish ‘Semites’ since then: Of all the original semitic peoples [viz., offspring of Shem, one of the three sons of Noah], only the Jews systematically rejected intermarriage. Historically intermarriage was the exception, not the rule, among the Jewish People — but only among them. Therefore, only they are predominantly semitic by ancestry. It’s just that simple.
Of all of Abraham’s eight sons, only the 2nd one, Isaac, had both a semitic father AND a semitic mother [Sarah].
The Arabs have continually had a heavy admixture of Hamitic DNA (and probably a generous slug of Yaphetic DNA as well) — ever since Ishmael’s Egyptian mother, Hagar, obtained a wife for him from amongst her own people [the Egyptians were Hamites, descended from a different son of Noah’s: Ham], and ever since Esau vexed his parents, Isaac & Rebecca [both Semites], by taking two wives from amongst the non-semitic locals [Canaanites, Hittites] as well as a third one, who was Ishmael’s half-semitic, half-hamitic daughter.
I could take this up in substantially greater detail, but that’s the gist of it. The truth is that the very exclusiveness which you so repeatedly & bitterly decry among the Jews, AE — is precisely what guarantees the reliability of my assertion — which I repeat:
There are no non-Jewish ‘semites’ in the modern age — and there haven’t been any such for well over three millennia. If the Jews are “exclusivist,” there couldn’t be.
Non-Jewish speakers of semitic LANGUAGES, yes.
Non-Jewish semites by genetic ancestry, no.
QUOD ERAT DEMONSTRANDUM.
It’s not your ego that is at issue here but your willfull ignorance, like when you kept insisting there were no non-Jewish Semites.
No you didn’t. If you had you would have known what their reaction would have been for a Jew to marry a Gentile.
Yes, because it is hypocritical to take God’s name in vain and then try to fool HIM by mis-spelling HIS name.
Only the willfully or deliberately ignorant who need to be corrected.
Try monthly shots of B-12. Maybe a bit of Gingko Biloba, as well, on a regular basis, if you can get a good formulation.
You’ll have to GET used to it, mate — because, as I’ve told you before, my ego isn’t the least bit threatened by being called ‘thick’ (and assorted variations on a theme) if that’s what it takes to get my questions answered.
Matching wits with Jews — and childishly disparaging the intellectual acuity of any & all that disagree with you — seems to be yours.
I rather conspicuously did have Jewish parents.
Now, if EVER there was a case of clear-cut PROJECTION, this specific comment of yours was most assuredly the very McGuffin.
For some, “G-d” IS the correct way to spell it. It’s their take on the injunction against “taking the Name of the Lord in vain.”
— Got a problem with that?
ROFLMAO.
Oh please — she hasn’t misconstrued anything, Eagle. Your compulsive contentiousness would be hard for ANYBODY to miss.
And I seriously doubt that anybody else reading your posts HAS missed it.
One cannot lose an argument by calling a spade a spade.
Quote:
In law offices I handled many divorce files….
Unquote.
So, you worked in law offices. Close enough.
Oops! How was I to know there are women who call themselves Teshuvah? I guess anything’s possible on the Internet.
Doesn’t that make you like a Jew? What about all the baloney you were quoting in No. 18 about God instructing Jewish men. What you were quoting was men instructing Jewish men.
Hey, so am I, though not because of anything that God is supposed to have said, but because I believe Jews deserve to have a safe haven where their ancestors lived and might is right in geopolitics.
So, why are you unable to spell God correctly?
I don’t worry too much about Ted. I have told him that faith beliefs should not be used to make political points and to chill free speech by hiding behind Moses.
I hate to fight. What you are misconstruing is my correcting the record and defending the freedom and democracy that Israel and its only ally, the USA, generally stand for.
BTW, I will pray that you get well soon.
I keep forgetting. I’m not used to thick people insisting on proving it over and over again:-)) It seems to have become your hobby.
You obviously never had Jewish parents like my friends did.
The subject we were talking about – parental verbal coercion as to whom to marry.
One doesn’t have to be a hen to know how eggs are laid. You obviously don’t have any idea what you are talking about, yet you keep talking about it. Like I said, it has become a hobby.
But I am “so thick” — as you persistently remind us — so why bother even arguing with me?
Not to a couple who know what they want.
Are we talking here about a brother or sister of yours, BTW?
Heard what “far too many times”?
No excuse, no blinders.
You simply have no clue, AE, as to what it means to be a Jew — apart from what the nuns poured down your throat before you were old enough to do your own thinking.
American Eagle (21): The way to lose an argument is to call people names as you did to Dweller above. Practice kindness.
Re: “Teshuvah (also spelled Teshuva) literally means “return” and is the word used to describe the concept of repentance in Judaism.” Therefore whenever you see the word Teshuvah you should think of Repentance. The word Yeshua means ““YHWH is salvation”. You called me Yeshuva which appears to be a blend.
On another note, you have presumed too much about me. I am not an attorney, nor a man, nor an observant Jew. I am not even a Jew although some of my maternal ancestors were. I am a Christian Zionist, which means I support God’s ongoing plan of restoring the Jews to Israel. I read Genesis through Revelation. I am more interested in God’s law than man’s law. Ted has requested that I not post Christian (“New” Testament) scriptures on the board. I try not to but “NT” principles are found in the Tanach.
I am recovering from an accident and am not writing much. I know you love to fight, so please pick on someone else today.
Dweller, if you weren’t so THICK you would know that this is worse than physical pressure.
You seem to have missed what Yeshuva wrote. I have heard it far too many times for your excuse to work. You need to take your blinders off.
So you didn’t miss what Yeshuva wrote, but you still choose to believe your own made-up excuses. Besides, what other references did you expect an observant Jew like Yeshuva to cite but from the Old Testament? These guys believe everything they read there.
So that’s “coercion”? — “or my Mom says…”?
Why is the inheritance so important?
They can’t make their own way in the world once they are married?
If Mom is able to exercise such control by means of a threat to withhold an inheritance, maybe the affianced pair are not ready to make their own way together? Maybe the inheritance (to say nothing of Mom herself) is a convenient device to hang this on?
Whoever told you this story, AE, is positing “force” to keep from taking responsibility for him[her]self.
Do you know who Ezra was, Eagle, and what the occasion was about?
There are some people who might not find it important for the Jews to have remained intact as a people after the Babylonian Captivity. Well, the Jewish People are implanted, if you will, with a sensibility that, perhaps less-than-consciously, KNOWS they were made for a purpose — and that that purpose requires (among other things) their cohesion.
You, of course, can take it or leave it, as a proposition.
But THEY can’t.
Teshuvah takes care to cite only “Old” Testament references.
But you know, Eagle, he could just as easily have cited Paul’s Second Letter to the Corinthians [6:14]…
Psychological coercion as in “Convert or my Mom says I cannot marry you. I may lose my inheritance.”
What is really disingenuous is to make excuses for psychological coercion based on religious grounds and family pressure.
See what I mean, Dweller? And Teshuva is an attorney by profession.
People should hold their faith first, and date and marry someone of the same beliefs in order to have a happy marriage and life and to please G-d. Faith is not an Add-On. It is called not being unequally yoked. Am 3:3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed? No! You cannot change someone else. It is hard enough to change yourself. Pray and ask G-d to send you someone of the same faith. Is that not what Abraham did on behalf of Isaac and Rebecca was the one G-d designated.
G-d even instructed Jewish men to first of all not marry those who worshipped other gods and in Ezra 9 and 10 to divorce their strange wives. In law offices I handled many divorce files and ultimately decided that many divorces would not have happened if they had married properly to begin with. That said, unfaithfulness is a real marriage killer. Too many marriages start out based on overactive hormones rather than after prayer and good advice gained by prayer and talking to the parents or other godly advisers.
De 7:3 Neither shalt thou make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son.
4 For they will turn away thy son from following me, that they may serve other gods:so will the anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and destroy thee suddenly.
Ex 34:14 For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:
15 Lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they go a whoring after their gods, and do sacrifice unto their gods, and one call thee, and thou eat of his sacrifice;
16 And thou take of their daughters unto thy sons, and their daughters go a whoring after their gods, and make thy sons go a whoring after their gods.
Ezr 9:12 Now therefore give not your daughters unto their sons, neither take their daughters unto your sons, nor seek their peace or their wealth for ever: that ye may be strong, and eat the good of the land, and leave it for an inheritance to your children for ever.
Ezr 10:1 Now when Ezra had prayed, and when he had confessed, weeping and casting himself down before the house of God, there assembled unto him out of Israel a very great congregation of men and women and children: for the people wept very sore.
2 And Shechaniah the son of Jehiel, one of the sons of Elam, answered and said unto Ezra, We have trespassed against our God, and have taken strange wives of the people of the land: yet now there is hope in Israel concerning this thing.
3 Now therefore let us make a covenant with our God to put away all the wives, and such as are born of them, according to the counsel of my lord, and of those that tremble at the commandment of our God; and let it be done according to the law.
4 Arise; for this matter belongeth unto thee: we also will be with thee: be of good courage, and do it.
5 Then arose Ezra, and made the chief priests, the Levites, and all Israel, to swear that they should do according to this word. And they sware.
And they did it.
It’s hard to believe that His Wonderfulness — like any other true-believing leftist — would regard religion (of ANY stripe) as being worthy of an educated, empirical man. His obvious deference toward Islam is likely more a consequence of FEAR than anything else. Yes, fear.
I’m quite serious.
If he can signal to the Muslim world that his ‘conversion’ to Christianity WASN’T a for-real apostasy, they’ll be less likely to put out a fatwa on him. That’s (partly) why I made my earlier remark [Sept 2, 8:46 am, above] about taqiyya.
“Forced”?
— As in, with a knife to their throat ?
— As in, by being denied the right to an honorable livelihood ?
— As in, by being bombarded 24/7 with khasidische rap music [feh!] till the suitors caved ?
How, “forced”?
To merely insist that a prospective husband embrace her faith constitutes no more an element of ‘force’ than does
her insistance that he not seek the comfort of another woman’s bed when the marriage encounters a rough patch;
no more an element of ‘force’ than her expectation that he provide for her and the children,
that he shelter them from the elements,
that he protect them from miscreants,
that he teach them their obligations to each other & to the community & to the Creator,
that he facilitate their learning to earn a living,
that he discipline them in the development of their emotional & intellectual life, etc.
It is simply disingenuous (at best) to characterize as ‘force’ the expectation that a fiance[e] join one’s own faith community.
That expectation is merely a part of the deal; you take the package or you don’t.
Bury your dead, Eagle…
“There you go”? — Hunh?
That, in and of itself, is NOT about force (as to Muslims OR Jews).
That is simply an integrating principal for maintaining community integrity and stability.
Get over it.
@ Teshuvah:
Please make this into a campaign commercial for his re election bid
Don’t miss this! This is a comment tagged to the main article at WND – http://www.wnd.com/index.php?pageId=337085 – by a poster named Greg Neubeck, slightly reformatted:
Why it matters: Besides the quotes in the YouTube video above where he talks about “my Muslim faith,” these are quotes by Barack Obama.
The political winds are currently shifting legally away from Judaism and Christianity and toward Islam. There are many signs. I won’t list them. Just observe. Further, the Muslims are being armed and everyone else disarmed.
Muslims read the Koran which instructs them to work toward Jihad. There are no moderate Muslims. Any jihadist is a threat to a normal person. A jihadist in the White House will make decisions exalting their ‘strange god’ and against the G-d of the Bible. Obama wants to criminalize “defamation of religion.” You can expect that to lead to criminalizing the “defamation of Islam but not any other religion (such as Judaism and Christianity).” Muslims enforce their will on others, i.e. “convert to Islam or we will murder you.” It is the end of individual freedom and the institution of worldwide Islamic dictatorship.
G-d commands, “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.”
That is why it is important that the occupant in the White House not be a Muslim, but Obama is a Muslim.
By itself, I would not give a fiddler’s fart if Obama were a Muslim.
For example, I happen to know a particular practicing Muslim, one Mudar Zahran – I think one of his articles was even featured here on Israpundit – who is very pro-Israel.
Now, if Obama were THAT kind of Muslim, that would be fantabulous!
Was his father actually a Muslim? I don’t think so. His ADOPTED father was, that Indonesian fellow, Soetero, his mother’s second husband. But Barak Sr., if memory serves me, was a communist, and very likely, an atheist.
My take on Obama is that he’s likely an agnostic leaning towards being an atheist, and all of his demonstrations of religious fealty – whether they be Christian a la Rev. Wrong, or Muslim a la Khalid Al Mansour – are just bogus acts at gaining a power base from which to go after “the man”.
Above all, Obama worships at the altar of HIMSELF. And he has demonstrated repeatedly, that in the service of the same, he displays a singular talent in terms of being able to lie through his teeth. He is all things to all people he can USE, or whom he feels he must APPEASE (as he is also a coward, in addition to being a world-class liar).
The Ramadan jewelry thing to me is just one more symbol of his appeasement of forces he perceives as being beyond his control, as they believe in SOMETHING, and he believes in NOTHING (apart from his own narcissism, which comes up pretty empty against any person of faith, even if it is misguided, evil faith).
@ Burt Prelutsky:
Your article, the first I have read, was both entertaining and knowledgeable.
When the spirit moves you to write another gem, please send it to me for posting, whether of not others have published it.
@ Teshuvah:Thank you. I found your information extremely interesting. It certainly helps me formulate my thinking.
Thanks again
Amen, Burt. The same applies to all socialists.
Don’t Jews have some similar tenet? I know several cases in the US when non-Jews were forced to convert by their Jewish fiancees before they could marry. It’s amazing how similar these mortal adversaries are in some respects.
Catholics used to be like that, which was a violation of Christ’s teachings, and Pope John XXIII finally changed all the previous bigotry.
There you go.
There is plenty of evidence that B.O. is a Muslim, whether or not openly observant. He was born a Muslim, raised as a Muslim. As the author points out, he constantly praises and whitewashes Islam, while showing no affection for Christianity or Judaism. Bowing to the King of Saudi Arabia is a Muslim act. Suddenly losing his watch during Ramadan signals his Muslim identity. At Occidental, B.O. roomed with Muslims at his request.
And during the campaign, on a television interview, when he got tired and didn’t have his teleprompter, B.O. referred to “my Muslim faith.”
Of course, more broadly, B.O.’s policies assist the worst elements in Islam (e.g., the Muslim Brotherhood) at the expense of the West and decent values.
Thanks, Ted, for posting my article. And thank you, too, to those who wrote nice comments about it. Regards, Burt Prelutsky
Follow this to see that he said he does. Just as Arafat said “Peace, peace” to Westerners and “Kill the Jews” to Muslims, Obama uses the same tactic. On 8 Sep 2009 he spoke to some school children and said:
See Posts #19 and #60 here. He was referring to Muslim prayer times. Any Muslim hearing that would have known he was saying, “I’m a Muslim.”
Post #60:
Obama may or may not be a practicing Muslim butI’m sure he considers himself the “Twelth Imam”.
@ LT COL HOWARD:
Correct.
Don’t think I’ve ever read a piece by Bert Prelutsky that didn’t get a good snort out of me.
The guy’s a treat, and a treasure.
Affirmative: shari’a regards Muslim affiliation as patrilineal (as halakha views Jewish affiliation as matrilineal).
Among SOME movements &/or sects, as I’m given to understand, apostasy is not possible before the age of [religious] responsibility; viz., puberty. So if the ‘conversion’ can be determined to have occurred before that time, the individual in question is not subject to punishment for apostasy. (But then, that raises the question of what becomes of the parent/guardian/etc who was responsible for the child when this happened…)
Of course, given the principle of taqiyya: which permits lying, deception, duplicity, etc., in the pursuit of the success of said Religion of Peace — presumably the claim could be made that one had only appeared to have converted (one way or the other), etc… I’m sure that when push came to shove, there must have been those who have used this as a defense, howsoever effectively or futilely.
But try googling it, Colonel, let’s see what else comes up.
some of my Muslim associates have told me that if your father is a Muslim you are Muslim. And that to convert to another religion makes you an apostate, punishable by death. I have no idea whether this is true or not and I ask for guidance from Ted and from the posters as to whether this is a correct statement–or not.
Way! Great article!
