(CNN) – GOP Conference chairman Thaddeus McCotter voiced his support for Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak Friday in a statement released on his website.
The Republican congressman from Michigan likened demonstrations in Egypt to “Iran’s 1979 radical revolution.” He cautions that those who “will be tempted to superficially interpret the Egyptian demonstrations as an uprising for populist democracy” should instead “recall how such similar initial views of the 1979 Iranian Revolution were belied by the mullahs’ radical jackbooted murderers.”
McCotter, the chairman of the House Republican Policy Committee, called for America to back Egypt, stating, “Thus America must stand with her ally Egypt to preserve an imperfect government capable of reform; and prevent a tyrannical government capable of harm.
“For if Egypt is radicalized, all of the reforms sought by the Egyptian people and supported by the United States with them – including consensual and constitutional government; free elections; open and unbridled media; and Egyptian control of their natural resources – will be lost. Nascent democratic movements in the region will be co-opted and radicalized.”
He further references Iran, saying, “Inexcusably, this crisis has been hastened and exacerbated by the U.S. Administration’s refusal to wholeheartedly embrace Iran’s truly democratic 2009 Green Revolution.”
McCotter closed his statement with advice on how to proceed, “If we fail to meet today’s enemy on the same determined, principled terms, we will too late awake in a nightmare world. But, if today’s enemy is steadfastly met and bested, liberty and the rule of law will be unleashed for millions throughout the world.”
In other words, politics is a dirty game full of hypocrisy, lies and deceit because of the people who play the game.
I used to wonder whether Putin was secretly a Muslim because of his aid to aid of Iran’s nuclear programme, his treaty with the Black Sea states and his support for all the enemies of Israel.
I don’t believe in Karma, but it has been said that Lady Karma always comes back to bite you in the ass when you least expect it, and Russia for decades has supported international terrorist organisations and supplied them with arms – they used to do so with impunity, but the last 10 years has seen Russia almost trying to catch up to Israel with the amount of terrorist attacks on its own soil. But that’s why I don’t believe in Karma, because Israel has never supported terrorists, and the innocent Russian civilians who have been victims of terror had no control over what their evil governments have done in Iran or which terrorist organizations it has armed.
I sat in disbelief at how George Bush did nothing about Saudi Arabia’s support of terrorist organizations nor about the fact that the richest Saudi families with whom they do business are the greatest providers of financial aid to the enemies of America.
But no-one seems to understand, or at least everyone seems to forget one fact: No matter where it is in the world, the governments of the world are run by the most evil in society: The money-grabbers, the power-lusters from among the elite of society, many of them being political, social or religious ideologists on top of being money-grabbing, power-lusting vultures. These people are blinded to common sense, easily controlled by Satan, and as a result are as deceitful as Satan himself. And those who control the main-stream media in the world are their puppets.
There are no exceptions.
Your criticism seems to be laid only at the recent Democratic American regimes. Nothing about both Bushes and the anti-Semites like Reagan, Nixon and Ike? Hmm. Seems to me your world view is skewered to reflect a certain partisan American world view that seen objectively from here shows you to be a political partisan, intellectually dishonest and certainly myopic.
Jew, I agree with your assessment. The Clintian regime’s “Let’s sing Kumbaya, sit around the campfire and roast trillion dollar marshmallows” didn’t work. Mubarak is a reflection of Clintonian failure.
I stand with the people’s rights to FREEDOM, but let all Egyptians be wary that if you depose one Clintonian regime puppet and replace him with an Iranian terrorist puppet, it is out of the frying pan and into the fire with Egypt. With Middle Eastern governments all on the horizon for expulsion, it’s a shame that while people discuss peace & security, destruction will come suddenly. And Iran having the bomb today………this is the worst case scenario you can imagine, from moderation to extremism…which will hurt and not help those of us who believe in PEACEFUL REVOLUTION for change.

the egypt-israel-peace-accords were an illusion wich actually cost many lives.
when the islamists take all the maghreb and other arab states over, then the true arab face will surface and that’s a good thing. then illusions will be over. then only a little minority of extreme leftists in Israel will continue to believe in the Peres-peace-stuff, but the BIG majority will throw Peres Beinisch BB and all the other loosers into the trash of history. the events in the arab world can actually be very beneficial to Israel.
anyway: war is inevitable. so better it comes sooner than later.
