Mike Huckabee and Malcolm Hoenlein to Speak At Beit El Dinner
by Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu, INN
Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and Malcolm Hoenlein, Executive Vice Chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major Jewish Organizations, will deliver keynote addresses at the annual dinner of the American Friends of the Beit El Yeshiva Center and Arutz Sheva on Sunday Dec. 5 in Manhattan.
Huckabee has been outspoken in his support for Israel’s rights to sovereignty over the disputed territories of Judea and Samaria, where Beit El is located. He has visited Israel 12 times and most recently toured sites in the eastern neighborhoods of Jerusalem and Judea and Samaria, accompanied by Dr. Joe Frager, a New York physician and chairman of the Jerusalem Reclamation Project.
Last year, Huckabee launched his unofficial campaign for the Republican presidential nomination in 2012 with a visit to the Har Bracha community in Samaria last year.
He said at the time that he understood the need for a Palestinian state, but that it should not interfere with the Jewish one. “There are many, many places where a homeland for the Palestinians could in fact take place that would be consistent with their roots,” he explained. “But there is only one place on earth where the Jewish people could have a homeland that is consistent with their roots.
Regarding the freeze on Jewish construction imposed by U.S. President Barack Obama, Huckabee said on his tour, “My question is how would the government of the United States feel if Prime Minister Netanyahu began to dictate which people could live in the Bronx, which ones could live in Manhattan, and which could live in Queens.” He compared Obama’s policy to racial segregation.
Mr. Hoenlein has traveled throughout the world meeting with state leaders and Jewish communities. He has written and lectured across the U.S. and abroad and is frequently consulted on public policy and Israel issues by high ranking American government officials.
Beit El Dinner
Chairman of the Board of American Friends of Beit El Eugen Gluck noted that with some 1,400 expected attendees, the Beit El/Arutz Sheva dinner is one of the largest and most prestigious functions of any Jewish organization. The dinner will be held on Sunday December 5 at the Marriot Marquis Hotel in Manhattan at 5pm.
The honorees this year are Rabbi Dr. Richard and Sandy Weiss of Hillcrest, NY, Dr. Joshua and Shifra Fox of Lawrence, NY, Dr. Joseph and Karen Frager of Jamaica Estates, NY, and Dr. Jeffrey and Esther Weber of Marine Park, Brooklyn.
Huck may be a decent guy that loves Israel, but from everything I know, he should not be in the top tier of power because he is likely to go mushy thinking he is showing mercy and compassion when it should not be.
I see your point Yamit.
I never doubted his sincerity re: Israel and I see no other mainstream politician who speaks and acts out in deeds his pro Israel support and that’s why I supported him. As president I think he would back away from some of his strong positions and his liberal positions would make it difficult for him to get the republican nomination not to mention the big bucks necessary. After I saw James (fuck the Jews) Baker dominate him over Israel on live TV. I really soured on him. He talks the talk as long as no one challenges him. rongrand saw that interview and I think he agrees with my assessment.
I am sick and tired of gravitating to politicians who talk the talk but disappoint when we need them.
Here is the clip
What light to see? Huckabee is a good guy.
Yamit once again puts a negative spin on a positive story. There’s no reason to question Huckabee’s sincerity with regard to Israel. The truth is that yamit doesn’t want Israel to have any friends and he wants to justify his own distrust and contempt for Christians. I have never heard any politician, not even other Republican supporters of Israel who flat out stated that Judea and Samaria belong to Israel.
I did because like you and others I fell into the trap of listening to what I wanted to hear. Then Danial Greenfield (Sultan Knish) clued me into Hucks past record and I started to do my own research which supported Greenfields. Showcasing him on Fox gave me more input to round out my previous conclusions. RINO and big time. Sure he seems to understand and support Israel and I too believe he is sincere but he is not a strong ideologue and will bend to whatever pressure is brought against him and America.
Yamit, you WERE the big Huck supporter. Glad to see you have seen the light. BTW, He ain’t all bad, but he does have a liberal streak that would do us in if he were prez. I do believe he really does support Israel, however.
Huckabee says the right things to a patriotic Jewish ear but I’ve seen him in action debating James (F-the Jews) Baker and Baker dominated Huckabee.
I’ve been told by the likes of Danial Greenfield that Huckabee is really quite the liberal and “(Huckabee mold), his nationalistic bark has always been louder than his liberal bite.”
