T. Belman. This narrator suggests that Bibi should resign and run for President instead. I think its too early for that. I have suggested that Likud appoint Israel Katz as its leader. Then Likud could form a strong coalition and Bibi could serve as Foreign Minister.

Bibi is not stepping aside if he were to yes we would have large government very quickly.
I far prefer Nir Barkat to Katz. Katz is not capable of being Prime Minister. Barkat is!

Well, I was pretty sure of that because you and I are most often on the same page . Israel today is not even like it ws when I was there. In the intervening 30 odd years, the “machers’ have learned even more crooked ways to get what they want, and to hell with thr country.
The people who vote for them are too stupid to see further than the boundaries of the country, and can’t imaging what Netanyahu was really doing out in the Big Bad World..
Reminds me of that wonderful movie,”I’m all right Jack”..
@ Edgar G.:That is what I was alluding to. And Bibi’s slipperiness is an asset in this context.
@ Sebastien Zorn:
Apart from all thvose, The point is …can he vie with the International Anti-Semitic world on better than equal terms as N etanyahu can. I’d bet he can NOT. Which means that Israel aian will lose it’s almost pre-eminent Middle East position. and then back the sqiare one again.
To have anyone but Netanyahu as PM with full support of hos government, and no back stabbers, is a MUST for Israel, which, contrary to the internal grumblings and calumnies, purely political, is held up as a shining example of Covid treatment and recovery.
Mandelblit and his cronies are still working in the background to bring him down……for their own reasons entirely unconnected with the good of the country. Don’t forget, the Supreme Court (and it’s legal sharks), believes that IT rules the country
As I have explained earlier, the Supreme Court has ruled that a person under indictment cannot serve in any government position except Prime Minister. I’m sure that the editors of i24 know this, and are just trying to spread disinformation and confusion in order to find a way of getting rid of Bibi.
And by the way–the “Supremes” just ruled that the Israeli ‘cabinet” was required to “appoint” a permanent Justice minister who was acceptable to the attorney general (who is chosen by a committee controlled by the Supreme Court and the Bar Association, and is a hard-core leftist). However, the ruled that Bibi could not participate in the Cabinet’s “decision” on this question, because he had a “conflict of interest,” since the Attorney General had indicted him.
i24’s coverage has been outrageously biased against Netanyahu and the right, and very open about its support for the left. Their chief commentator was very explicit about being “happy” that Labor and Meretz did very well. He said that this will give great “joy” to American Jews.
Earlier, he urged Bennet to “kill” Bibi (that was the actual word he used) “You can become king without killing the king.” He suggested that Bennet could become prime minister himself if he “killed” Bibi first. How Bennet was supposed to accomplish this was left unsaid.
i24 is clearly a tool of the left. I wouldn’t believe a word they say.
Otherwise, I like what I am reading about him in this article. It says he held the position of foreign minister, among others. Does he have any achievements he can point to? Is there any reason to believe he has Bibi’s multifaceted skills to be PM? I like what I read about Saar’s positions too, as well as Bennett but I am skeptical of their ability to fill Bibi’s shoes.

It sounds like he wants to relinquish Areas A and B to Jordan and Gaza to Egypt. That means that when the IDF would not be able to go in to either place without going to war with Jordan or Egypt, would it not, even if Egypt would touch Gaza with a ten foot pole. Freezing in place Arab autonomy over areas A and B would completely rule out Israel ever reclaiming those territories whereas now a legal limbo exists and the IDF can do whatever it must. Plus, all all Arab regimes are built on sand, history shows. You could have a stable “ally” for a few decades and then it will be overthrown. There is no reason for Israel to be in a rush to resolve anything other than to nationalize and normalize that which can be ASAP and build Jewish settlements while dismantling illegal Arab settlements that with EU backing are trying to change the facts on the ground. In my opinion.
