Then a few days ago there was evidence to the contrary which is referred to in this article.

How bad is the voter fraud problem in America? If you believe the national media, it doesn’t exist. It’s made up. It’s a right wing talking point. But every now and then, troubling data points surface, like an iceberg in cold waters, giving us a sense of how bad it might be.
AUSTIN, Texas (KWTX) A yearlong investigation involving the Texas Department of Public Safety revealed that 95,000 non-citizens are registered to vote in the state and that 58,000 of them have voted in one or more elections, Secretary of State David Whitley announced Friday.
Whitley’s office oversees elections in the state.
How were those numbers arrived at?
In an advisory released Friday afternoon, the office said it was flagging individuals who had provided the Texas Department of Public Safety with some form of documentation — including a work visa or a green card — that showed they were not a citizen when they were obtaining a driver’s license or an ID card. Among the individuals flagged, about 58,000 individuals cast a ballot in one or more elections from 1996 to 2018, the secretary of state’s office said.
Voter verification is still the most important issue facing this country. Put 2 justices who believe in it on the Supreme Court and everything changes. Without it, we’re still chasing shadows and rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic.
I have no doubt that there is widespread voter fraud throughout the country, that millions of illegal ballots are cast in every Presidential elections, with the overwhelming majority cast for Democratic candidates. To me, the fact that the overwhelming majority of states refused to cooperate with the commission Trump appointed to investigate the problem is proof enough. People normally don’t refuse to hand over information to the government, except for very personal stuff, unless they have something to hide. The fact that the courts and the state governments have worked so strenously to prevent the Federal government from identifying illegal immigrants, or even legally resident non-citizens, is additional proof that every effort is being made by Democrats and some Republicans to protect illegal voters and voter fraud (such as doube voting).
