Michele Bachmann takes on the Muslim Brotherhood

BACHMANN SENDS HAMAS CONGRESSMAN HAKIM MUHAMMAD (AKA KEITH ELLISON) RESPONSE TO MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD PROPAGANDA

Michelle Bachmann is doing the work of an army of men, our founding fathers. This is the most pressing national security issue of our time. Obama’s Department of Justice has dropped the prosecutions of the Muslim Brotherhood co-conspirators (CAIR, ISNA, ICNA, MAS) named in the largest terror funding trial in US history (here, for example).

Instead, the Obama administration has recruited, appointed and stacked our most critical government agencies with these subversives. Treason. High treason.

“Bachmann sends Ellison letter in response to Muslim Brotherhood comments” SC Times, July 15, 2012

U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann is asking how a top aide to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton got security clearance given what Bachmann describes as the aide’s family ties to the Muslim Brotherhood movement.Bachmann also says an investigation of “potential Muslim Brotherhood infiltration” of President Barack Obama’s administration is needed because of interactions between federal agencies and what she calls U.S. front groups for the Muslim Brotherhood, an international Islamist group that recently came to power in Egypt.

The comments come in Bachmann’s new response to U.S. Rep. Keith Ellison’s call for Bachmann to back up the information on which she based a request for federal investigations into whether the Muslim Brotherhood has infiltrated the U.S. government.

Ellison, DFL-Minneapolis, wrote Bachmann and four other lawmakers last week asking them to name their sources for similar claims on which they based their June 13 call for the investigation.

Bachmann, R-Stillwater, responded Friday with a 16-page, 59-footnote letter to Ellison. The letter contains additional details about the June 13 allegations made by Bachmann and Reps. Trent Franks, R-Ariz., Louie Gohmert, R-Texas, Thomas Rooney, R-Fla., and Lynn Westmoreland, R-Ga.

Bachmann’s letter also raises new questions about the Obama administration’s actions since that call for an investigation.

One of Bachmann’s June 13 letters singles out Huma Abedin, a deputy chief of staff to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and wife of former New York congressman Anthony Weiner.

Bachmann’s letter says three members of Abedin’s family have had ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, notes that her job affords her routine access to Clinton, and says the State Department has taken recent actions “that have been enormously favorable to the Muslim Brotherhood and its interests.”

Ellison, DFL-Minneapolis, last week asked Bachmann to substantiate what he described as Bachmann’s suggestion that Abedin “may be working on the (Brotherhood’s) behalf.”

  1. Hurray for Bachmann! It’s good to know that somebody, somewhere, is paying attention to the REAL threat the U. S. faces!

  2. @ Lorenzo:
If you want facts read the links provided. Other than that Bachmann’s complaint is based on facts, sad facts, true facts.

  3. Was reviewing the comments section of the St Cloud Times coverage of the article. The article itself was quite partisan. A person, probably a pseudonym, named Egbert posted a comment and moments later it was gone. Given the tone of other articles, it was by no means outside the parameters of the discussion save that it seems one can challenge a Conservative but not a left-trending person or publication. The Egbert comment that was struck from the St Cloud Times article said:

I note that despite the fact that Congresswoman Bachmann made not comments with regard to her religion, she is pilloried as if she had. Also, I note that while the SCTimes published Congressman Ellison’s letter on Congressional letterhead, they simply commented on Congresswoman Bachmann’s without providing it. Bush league! But then again, this is Saint Cloud. I had to search but did find her letter, also written on Congressional letterhead. It contains 59 discrete citations to the sources she used and most of them seem to be the sources themselves.

This is important because a citation check would validate both the concerns she raises and expose an underlying smear by innuendo campaign by the newspaper that the reader could figure out had the readers been given the opportunity. For example, footnote 28 has a link to the Hamas Covenant where it states flat out in Article 2 that they are the Muslim Brotherhood. This is a known fact – not hidden – no tea leaves to divine. (Incidentally, Article 7 calls for the killing of all Jews!) Had the reader had access to the letter, it would have revealed the innuendo in the article where it was suggested, as if those saying so were conspiracy theory nuts, that it is “alleged” that Hamas has “some ties” to the Muslim Brotherhood. Shame on the SCTimes for deliberately obfuscating a known and cited fact. Also cited, many with links to the actual court documents, were those establishing the fact that CAIR was formed out of Hamas to serve primarily as a disinformation cell (see the “Philly meeting” link). At some point, one suspects that the writers of this article fear to fact check because deep down they know it will undermine their ability to sustain partisan attack narratives while maintaining at least some semblance of integrity – at least when they look themselves in the mirror. (By the way, did you know Morsi became a member of the Muslim Brotherhood when he joined the Muslim Student Association while attending USC? – Yes, that Muslim Brotherhood!)

In fact, why doesn’t the SCTimes post both Congress Members Ellison’s and Bachmann’s letters side by side so that the reader can fact check both to see who is actually engaged in ad hominen attacks and misstatements.
