3 Israelis stabbed in two terror attacks, 2 additional attacks foiled

Security guard’s “high alert and resourcefulness prevented a major terrorist attack,” in Jerusalem, says police commander • Soldiers stop two female, knife-wielding terrorists • Sunday’s attacks follow ramming and stabbing attacks on Friday and Saturday.

A soldier was lightly wounded in a Jerusalem stabbing attack Sunday, while two other terrorist attacks were thwarted in Judea and Samaria — the latter both involved Palestinian women who tried to stab security forces.

Just before 2 p.m., two Palestinian terrorists stabbed two Israeli soldiers at the Hawara checkpoint near Nablus. The victims were lightly to moderately wounded. Both terrorists were shot and killed.

Early Sunday morning, the soldier stabbed near the central bus station in Jerusalem sustained lacerations to his shoulder and was taken to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital. The terrorist was apprehended by a security guard and turned over to security forces.

The initial investigation found that the terrorist was a 30-year-old man from the Palestinian village of Eizariya?, in southeast Jerusalem, who has an Israeli ID.

Jerusalem District Police Commander Maj. Gen. Moshe Edri commended the security guard’s action, saying “his high alert and resourcefulness prevented a major terrorist attack near the central bus station.”

The first thwarted attack on Sunday took place near the community of Maaleh Shomron, where a terrorist approached security forces wielding a knife. She was apprehended by the soldiers.

The second incident took place in Hebron, when soldiers stationed at the entrance to the Cave of the Patriarchs apprehended a Palestinian woman after she was found to be in possession of a knife. She was turned over to security forces for further interrogation.

Sunday’s events followed a tense weekend during which a stabbing and a ramming attack, both targeting soldiers, were prevented.

Saturday afternoon saw a terrorist ram his car into a military checkpoint near Huwara, a Palestinian town adjacent to Nablus.

One soldier was lightly wounded. The terrorist, identified as 56-year-old Maher al-Jabi, was shot and seriously wounded. He was taken to Rafidia Hospital in Nablus, were he died several hours later.

Earlier on Saturday morning, a terrorist planning to attack a group of worshippers in Jerusalem was shot and killed by the police.

Security footage shows the terrorist, identified as Musab Ahmed Ghazali, 26, from the east Jerusalem neighborhood of Ras al-Amud, lurking near Jaffa Gate and then following a group of worshippers.

Two policemen are seen on the video stopping the man for questioning.

According to one policeman’s testimony, “We kept a safe distance and ask him to show us some identification. Once he put his hand in his pocket he refused to take it out. When he finally did, he was holding a large knife.

  1. What happens if/when an Israeli/Jew is armed and the police or IDF notice this? Is the person that is armed for self protection in immediate danger of being shot and killed by his own? I realize things are quite unstable there at this time, and was just wondering. Thanks for your opinions.

  2. @ oldjerry:
He really is an Israeli RINO. Just as the GOP establishment finds it safer to aggress against conservatives, Netanyahu feels far more comfortable attacking Jews. It is cowardly. Like John McCain, Netanyahu was a brave warrior who became a craven politician.

  3. The onslaught will continue until Israel severely punishes the Palis, which is not happening because Bozo Netanchickenliver fears the wrath of the Gentiles. Jews are dying because the prime minister has chosen to let them die rather than put a devastatingly brutal end to this siege.
