CCP’s Media War Against America on American Soil

Morning Intelligence Report

Taking advantage of the Freedom of Speech in America, the CCP has been engaging in a massive media war against America on American soil for decades. Recently, the CCP has further intensified its attack, especially on young Americans using various social media/streaming platforms, such as TikTok, YouTube, etc. This article presents only a few examples.

The CCP’s Chinese-language media in America often tend to be overlooked by Americans. Maybe this is due to the language barrier. These media aim to brainwash overseas Chinese with CCP’s propaganda. Exploiting their love for their home country, the CCP manipulates them to side with the CCP. It is a sad reality that to many overseas Chinese, loving China still means loving the CCP, while anti-CCP means anti-China, as they have been intoxicated to believe so.

In addition, China’s surreal economic leap in the last two decades has brought unprecedented pride to overseas Chinese; it has also fooled some Westerners. Many of them credit the CCP for this fast development. Such a leap was engineered by short-sighted investors from the West, who dumped vast Western assets and technologies accumulated over several decades into China for short-term profits. The result? The West has fed the enemy CCP fat (look at who the major clients are for the luxury brands today), while the West itself has been deeply damaged.

As more Americans recognize the evil nature of the CCP, as more Western investors move out of China, and as tensions in the Taiwan Strait escalate, the CCP is cunningly turning overseas Chinese into anti-America “agents” on American soil. This could become a big internal threat to American security.

Newspaper: The China Press

Headquartered in New York City, with a big office building (and a gigantic sign in front) along Highway 101 near San Francisco airport, The China Press newspaper is CCP’s mouthpiece but has not been registered as a foreign agent. It has both digital and print versions. The newspaper is distributed for free or 50 cents only at Chinese grocery stores in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, New Jersey, Chicago, Boston, Washington DC, etc.

The China Press self-claims that the CCP’s increasing global influence and the growing number of new Chinese immigrants have made it the “fastest-growing Chinese newspaper in the United States”.

The CCP established it after the 1989 Tiananmen Massacre when the CCP media were desperately attempting to infiltrate America. The name in Chinese means “Newspaper for the Overseas Chinese.” The CCP exploits these overseas Chinese-language media to tighten its control over overseas Chinese communities, referring to them as one of its “three treasures (of controlling tools),” i.e., Chinese associations, Chinese schools, and Chinese media.

Executives dispatched by the CCP have led the Chinese press. It even has a branch in Beijing. Its executives often have special chances to meet with or interview top-tier CCP officials.

Before the CCP took over Hong Kong in 1997, The China Press warned that America must be cautious about its words and actions and must not interfere with Beijing’s internal affairs.

Former Taiwanese President Ma Ying-jeou is known for his support in establishing a friendly relationship with Beijing. On April 1, 2024, Ma began his 11-day trip to China. Within less than two hours, the China Press published ten flattering reports, all conveying the same message: the democratic and autonomous Taiwan should unify with the mainland.

CCP Propaganda on YouTube

Common citizens in China have no access to YouTube. But YouTube is filled with various CCP official programs and programs by CCP vloggers, from military to economy, sports to performing arts, cooking shows to movies and TV dramas.

Some Chinese-language programs are straightforwardly anti-America, such as a vlogger’s channel called Yang Feng Shi Ping (Yang Feng’s Commentaries on News). Only to show a few titles from the channel, “Beijing’s three strategies attack America in two directions” (August 8, 2024), “Big problem: American Navy no longer more advanced than Chinese Navy” (May 26, 2024), “Horrible: China exports its economic model, America and Isreal are cursed” (July 5, 2024), “American Economic System Collapses, Chinese Economic System Rises” (August 4, 2024), “Warning to America and Japan: Bomb Carriers on China’s Supersonic Missiles” (May 17, 2024).

A highly deceiving channel is CTI News Channel, which is based in Taiwan but is a mouthpiece of the CCP. Its narratives are the same as CCP’s; the only difference is that all the new anchors and commentators are Taiwanese. On September 10th, 2024, CTI News produced a program on YouTube called “Hua Wei’s 3-fold Cell Phones Born Out of Nowhere, Every Commentator: Must buy. Apple is beaten down”. On September 13, 2024, CTI’s program on the status of the Taiwan Strait was titled: “America is manipulating behind the scenes; the Chinese PLA will not have patience forever.”

Almost all the CCP’s TV dramas/movies are free to watch on YouTube. For example, one can watch the entire series of the TV drama “Empresses in the Palace” (also translated as “Betty Sun”). Being highly popular in China, the TV drama promotes ruthless palace intrigue, scheming, shamelessness, and hard-heartedness under the disguise of glamorous traditional Chinese outfits.

Harmful TikTok

Headquartered in Los Angeles and Singapore, TikTok is known to spread darkness and despair to American youth. Research has shown that TikTok’s algorithm exposes young users to harmful contents, which lead to depression, self-harm even suicide. The platform’s design leads to prolonged use and addictions, especially so to the youth.

The Way Out – Introducing Ganjing.com

In 2022, Ganjing.com, an all-new social media/streaming platform, was launched in New York by a group of engineers who are American patriots and dedicated to using technology to spread the goodness of humanity. Ganjing in Chinese means clean. The company is missioned to create a genuinely positive, vibrant digital community filled with wholesome content, free from violence, sex, crime, and objectively harmful behavior. Ganjing.com has developed a non-addictive algorithm that treats users’ privacy as a top priority. The users’ visits are not tracked. This platform presents programs in multiple languages, with English and Chinese being the major ones.

What is important is that this is a platform the CCP could not infiltrate. No CCP propaganda is permitted on Ganjing.com, yet there are many programs on traditional Chinese culture and news. Recently, Ganjing.com launched its worldwide video contest, “Kindness Is Cool,” to inspire good deeds worldwide. May more Americans, especially young Americans, discover the beauty of Ganjing.

  1. It is a sad (?) reality that to many overseas Chinese, loving China still means loving the CCP, while anti-CCP means anti-China,

I think it’s normal and natural, for a people to be fond of their leaders. What seems perverse, seems to be a country of peoples hating both their leaders and one another — even children hating their parents.
